I (Laura) had the chance to go on a home-made steam boat named "Tui" on Lake Rotoiti, a part of the Nelson lakes. This is Admiral Alan (at least that's what he called himself ;) )

Alan had stripped down an older boat, then redone it himself. He ordered in the parts he couldn't build himself.
